Hello everyone (who am I kidding, I know I’m only addressing one person at this point in time.. hi mom!),
First of all yay! It’s my first official blog post. I’m not going to lie I’m kind of nervous putting myself out there but hey starting 2021 checking this off my bucket list so nonetheless I am proud of myself for taking the first step :)
I don’t know about any of you but I used to fall trap to the idea that healthy and glowy skin come from an extremely diligent skincare routine and using all the right products externally. I mean those things are in fact important but they are the supplemental component to skin health. Taking care of yourself from the inside is a mirror reflection on the biggest organ on you body, your skin. Throughout the years I have learned the importance of diet and nutrition and how that impacts my body from the inside out. I try my best to get in my greens and fruits with what I am eating throughout the day but the easiest way I have found to intake all of my daily nutrients is a green smoothie. So today I am sharing my recipe for a detox smoothie I make for myself when I know I have been slacking or need an extra pick me up. Having this smoothie consistently for a few days truly feels like my organs are thanking me and in return reward my skin with a healthy glow.
Now let’s get into the recipe…
Things you will need:
2 celery stalks
Half an inch of Ginger
1/4 of a large cucumber
Juice squeezed from half a lemon
A handful of Spinach
2-3 Mint leaves
A handful of Blueberries and Pomegranate
1 cup of Water/ Ice
And a blender of course!
These are the exact measurements I use but you can obviously use more or less of any of the ingredients depending on your preferences. I sometimes throw in strawberries or pineapple depending on what I have in my fridge or what’s in season. Feel free to experiment and make your perfect concoction.
Benefits: This smoothie is jam packed with antioxidants, vitamin A, B, C and zinc. All of which are key ingredients in rejuvenating and regenerating. It also has anti-inflammatory properties in case you are going through breakouts. Celery helps stabilize blood sugar levels and aids in digestion. Lemon and Spinach are alkaline to balance the ph levels in your body. The ginger in particular promotes blood flow and helps even skin tone.
Let me know if you try it and how it goes for you!
Cheers!
Looks yumm !!... I’ll try it for sure 👍🏻
Will try, looks yum.
The most satisfying smoothie, ever!
